Brownie Mug

A quick post on this cold Tuesday morning.

Some of you may never forgive me for sharing this recipe with you, but it's too good not to share.

Who has ever had a craving for a brownie, but not had a fresh-baked one on hand? Raise your hands.  Ok, who has ever had a craving for a brownie, then baked a batch of brownies, only to eat more that you really wanted?

Now, I have the perfect solution: Brownie Mug.  Yep, that's a single-serving brownie made right in the microwave in a coffee mug--chocolaty, gooey goodness on demand.  Yum.

Brownie Mug

  1Tablespoons Water
  1Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1/8 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
Dash of salt
1 Tablespoons Cocoa powder
2 Tablespoons Sugar
  2Tablespoons Flour
small handful of chocolate chips  (optional)

  1. Add the water, oil, vanilla, and salt to the mug and mix. Then add cocoa powder, whisk well. Add sugar, whisk well. Add flour, whisk well, until no clumps remain.
  2. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds. You may have to microwave it longer or shorter, depending on your microwave, but the brownie should still be moist in the center when done.
  3. That's it! Let it cool slightly, and enjoy your two-minute brownie!
And you could even buy this mug to bake your brownie in, but it's definitely not necessary:

    2. And Dining and Opining loves you!

Sorry I wasn't able to save you guys in your time of need--were Katy's fears averted? Did Katy find her brownie? I love that you guys don't have microwaves, but fear this might hamper your single-serving brownie options!

    3. Luckily, we had chocolate-dotted bread on hand to avert the disaster that was already partially averted after Katy made a killer spaghetti sauce.

Thanks for the melty thing ideas... I'm always going back and forth about the microwave issue, but these brownies could be my undoing...
